What to expect from Louvre Abu Dhabi
Louvre Abu Dhabi is set to become a new cultural beacon in the region when it opens on Saturday 11th November. The first of its kind in the Arab world, Louvre museum will showcase human stories across civilisations and cultures, helping us to understand the similarities and connections that are at the core of humanity. In addition to featuring galleries, temporary exhibitions and a year-long programme packed with performances, Louvre will also boast a high-end restaurant, a café and a Children’s Museum.
An architectural masterpiece
The architecture alone is a reason to make a trip to Louvre Abu Dhabi – you definitely won’t be disappointed! Designed by French Architect Jean Nouvel, Louvre Abu Dhabi is a museum city built beneath a 180-metre dome; the design filters sunlight and shade onto the buildings and waterfront promenades below, creating a cinematic ‘Rain of Light’ effect. Surrounded by the sea, visitors to the museum can can also walk along the promenades beneath the museum’s stunning dome and experience this ‘rain of light’ that was inspired by the shadows of overlapping palm trees in the UAE’s precious oases, where travellers once crossed paths. 4-day opening celebration at Louvre
From Saturday 11th November through to Tuesday 14th November, Louvre Abu Dhabi invites you to be a part of its historic opening celebration in the capital. The museum’s galleries will open up to the public and an action-packed programme of events will include multicultural music, art, dance, workshops and a never-seen-before light show!
The four days of family-friendly events will be one huge celebration of diversity, bringing talent from around the world and ensuring an unforgettable launch of the museum!
Free Tours at Louvre Abu Dhabi
From Saturday 11th though to Tuesday 14th, there will be three guided tours available for adults and families. These tours will be free to those who have purchased entry tickets, so pick your preference and get going!

International headline acts
