The Review

  • The Good

Are you a game addict just like us? Well, your Friday game night has just got a whole lot better. Forget Cluedo. The latest craze to hit Dubai is HintHunt; a live escape game that revolves around a number of different themes including a mysterious murder and a sinking submarine.

Your job is to escape the room within 60 minutes by breaking codes and answering mind-bending puzzles. Hints are given every so often on a screen, so don't worry, you're not alone.

HintHunt Dubai is great for team building, so if you're a new company looking to break the ice, give it a go. We loved the sound effects and background music; a tad creepy but made our experience more realistic. Sherlock Holmes had nothing on us. There were cameras in the room watching our every move, waiting to surprise us with hints - such a relief when you're completely stuck and on the verge of giving up.

We gave the Submarine-themed room a go and were extremely impressed with the lifelike design of the space. From the realistic gas pipes to the intricate control room (and yes, we couldn't resist touching every button and switch), we actually felt like we were in a real submarine.

  • The Bad
If you're claustrophobic, then being locked in a room for 60 minutes isn't ideal. Ask to have a look inside the room first before it's too late. If you've booked and paid beforehand, then there's no turning back. Refunds and reschedules are not accepted. You snooze, you lose.

So, did we manage to make it out the Submarine in time? No. It's definitely worth noting that the Submarine escape room is very challenging (we'd say more challenging than the other rooms), so be sure to bring your A game along.
  • The Tips
If you're under nine years of age then you'll need an adult with you; if you're over 15 years then you're on your own. Stuck for gift ideas? Why not give a friend a HintHunt Dubai gift voucher. The price goes down with group bookings, handy for school and company outings. To play these challenge games, you've got to be a minimum group of three people and a maximum of five.
