Wafi Mall, Umm Hurair
Recommended for Middle Eastern Restaurants
- Family Friendly
Step back in time to old-world Arabia by dining in the extravagant marble courtyard at Khan Murjan. A hidden gem nestled in the souk at Wafi Mall, you'll find a menu bursting with Arabic food and Middle Eastern specialties - from Lebanese and Egyptian to North African and Persian.
The gorgeous architecture and design of the space is breathtaking - there's simply no other restaurant in Dubai that compares. A hugely popular hotspot for shisha, guests can come down to enjoy live oriental music performances in the evening while taking in the family atmosphere.
Khan Murjan is one of those places somewhat off the radar; it has also become our go-to spot for taking out-of-town visitors because of all the culture and tradition on full display. There are a lot of small details to love here, from the waitstaff donning Middle Eastern folk attire to the incredible variety of cuisines available.
One of our favourite restaurant features is the retractable roof that opens up during the cooler months; it really adds to the courtyard feel and makes dining under the stars a memorable experience. You can expect big portions on offer here, making it a perfect venue for sharing big meals that the kitchen churns out flawlessly.
Because Khan Murjan is located inside of Wafi Mall, it has to shut down by 12.30am every day, including weekends. For shisha in Dubai lovers who enjoy late-night get-togethers, this is one of the restaurant's biggest downsides.
Although it has a retractable roof, the summer months can still get a bit hot and sticky - we recommend coming down in the evening when the sun isn't shining directly down on guests. Take note that certain dishes from the menu are not always available every day as specials are rotated throughout the week.
This Middle Eastern restaurant in Dubai boasts a traditional saj bread oven with BBQ cooking stations, a fresh fish counter and dessert island - be sure to have a look for foodie inspiration. At the centre of the space you'll also find a gorgeous juice bar with a wide range of selections on offer. Absolutely do not leave without trying the Kunafa - it's one of the best Arabic desserts in town.
We recommend coming down for their lunch special that includes a main course and soup. At night the whole space glows with ambient lighting, making it a perfect spot for shisha in Dubai under the moonlight. The restaurant also hosts live singers and instrumentals every evening from 9pm onwards.
