2. Puff Baker Cafe

Puff Baker Cafe in Dubai

Looking for a family-friendly joint that’s enjoyable for both adults and kids? Head down to Puff Baker Cafe and enjoy a delicious dish from their all-day breakfast menu while the little ones get messy in the kitchen. From cooking to baking, Puff Baker has its very own Junior Chef Zone, complete with kiddie-sized utensils, little kitchen sinks and mini chef hats.

Price: Eggs Benedict is around AED 38 and baking classes (1 hour) cost around AED 75 per child

Location: Golden Mile Galleria, The Palm

insydo tip: Classes run from 10am to 6pm and require parents to call ahead to book a slot for their kids; it’s not somewhere you can just turn up and join in.

3. Le Petit Palais

Le Petit Palais play area in Dubai

Indulge in gourmet bites at Galeries Lafayette while the kids enjoy a Parisian play date at Le Petit Palais. Whether you’ve got a budding beautician on your hands or the next Whitney Houston, this play area will turn dreams into action, with a make-believe beauty salon, art studio, karaoke room, petrol station and supermarket on site.

Price: Around AED 85 for 1 hour and AED 20 for each additional hour

Location: The Dubai Mall

insydo tip: Treat your kid to a Le Petit Palais birthday party, which lasts for two hours and includes free play for the first hour, face painting, a gourmet kids’ menu and private party room.

4. Pots, Pans & Boards

Pots, Pans & Boards restaurant in Dubai

Pots, Pans & Boards offers a melting pot of British and European flavours, all served in a pot, pan or on a board. Brought to you by Michelin-starred chef, Tom Aikens, this British restaurant has an eclectic sharing menu bursting with wholesome breakfasts, hearty mains and desserts. Oozing a rustic farmhouse feel with an in-house kids’ play area, this cosy spot is perfect for a laid-back family lunch.

Price: You’re looking at around AED 250 for two people

Location: The Beach at JBR

insydo tip: Vegetarians may struggle with the dinner menu – other than the side dishes there isn’t really much to choose from. That being said the breakfast menu is much more accommodating.

5. BookMunch Cafe & Bookshop

BookMunch Cafe & Bookshop in Dubai

Perfect for play dates, BookMunch Cafe & Bookshop is a hidden hub of literacy and light bites. The décor is colourful and there’s an indoor gazebo packed with books; kids can take to the carpet for story time with old favourites such as Humpty Dumpty while parents grab some food. If that’s not sweet enough, their munch menu serves an array of sweet and savoury treats.

Price: A coffee will cost you around AED 16

Location: Multiple locations

insydo tip: The Business Bay branch offers a BookMunch brunch every Saturday from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
