The New Apple Dubai Mall Store is Now Open – and it Looks EPIC!

With a 186-foot curved storefront and balcony overlooking Burj Khalifa and the city’s famous dancing fountains, the new Apple store occupied two floors and will showcase more than 150 products including Apple Watches, iPhones, MacBooks and more.

The design was inspired by the Middle East

No surprise here, but Apple might have outdone itself with its newest outlet. Keeping Dubai’s climate in mind, planners designed eighteen 37.5-foot-high motorised “Solar Wings” that are programmed to adapt to the temperature.

When the sun is at its hottest they cool the store, and in the evenings they open almost like butterfly wings. Inspired by traditional Arabic Mashrabiya (decorative screens), the 18 panels make up one of the world’s largest kinetic art installations. Pretty cool, right?!

Apple Dubai Mall is launching a new concept called “Today at Apple“ that invites customers for training sessions across a range of fields including photo and video, music, coding, art and design, and more. The courses will be free and led by highly-trained team members.

They will also host high-profile events including live music, intimate conversations with film-makers and photographers, and live workshops with some of the world’s top talent.

Events you can catch TODAY include Live Art with Myneandyours, and Artist Duos with Emirati soul musician Hamdan Al Abri and artist Sultan Al Ramahi.

Opening times

The store will be open seven days a week, 10am to 11pm Sunday to Wednesday and 10am to midnight Thursday to Saturday.
