Following in the footsteps of its rival Uber, ride-hailing app Careem has announced new price changes on some fares in Dubai. Here’s what you should know…

Careem Dubai raises prices based on time of day

Here is the new pricing structure announced by Careem, which went into effect on May 7.

• Economy: some trip fares will be lower and others will be higher based on the variable components of your trip.
• Careem Kids: all trip fares will be lower than before: same fares as Economy + AED 7 surcharge.
• UNHCR: Economy fares + AED 3 donation to UNHCR.
• GO Beta – Careem’s most affordable ride option – and Business: these car types will not be affected by these price changes.
