The Review

  • The Good

As one of Italy's most famous and acclaimed restaurants, The Artisan by Enoteca Pinchiorri brings its fine-dining Tuscan concept to Dubai's sunny shores. Founded by three-starred Michelin chef Annie Féolde, it's a gorgeously decorated space that showcases flawless cuisine.

Located in the Burj Daman building in DIFC, expect to find an elegant setting accented with pale blue walls, French moulding and decorative snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant also features an outdoor dining area, a bar with an extensive wine selection and menu inspired by the Tuscan countryside.

When we heard that The Artisan was originally founded by one of the top five chefs in the world, we knew we had to check it out. A tribute to classic Italian cooking, we were impressed with the concise yet high-quality selection of dishes, from Veal Milanese to Tiramisu.

Specialities are offered daily; when we visited, the focus was truffle with several dishes made with specialty selections from Europe. We were also pleased to find aged balsamic vinegar on the tables, a delicious addition to any of their freshly baked bread rolls. When it comes to Italian restaurants in Dubai, we think The Artisan is on a whole other level of sophistication.

  • The Bad
While The Artisan portrays itself as having a ‘refined casual’ ambience, we found the restaurant to be quite formal and not best suited for families with kids. We’d definitely recommend it for date nights and those looking for a quiet, intimate meal.

It’s worth noting that The Artisan opens for dinner only on Fridays and Saturdays (7pm to around 1am) so lunch isn’t an option. From Sundays to Thursdays, lunch is served from 12pm to 3:15pm, and then dinner is from 7pm to 11:15pm.
  • The Tips
Bookings can be requested online or over the phone. The restaurant’s indoor area can take up to 120 people making it a great option for private functions. Expect to have your water bottles replaced without asking so we’d advise letting your waiter know if you don’t want a new one, otherwise you could end up with a hefty water bill.

Our must-try dishes include the sweet beetroot salad, the Sea Bass cooked under a salt crust and the hand-made Agnolotti stuffed with Mantova pumpkin. The Tiramisu and dark chocolate fondant are also two desserts you don’t want to miss.
