The Review

  • The Good

Located on the fourth floor of the world's tallest hotel, Tong Thai is a modern Thai eatery with glittering views of Business Bay. Taking inspiration from the rich culture of the Far East, you'll be mesmerised by this fine-dining eatery's stunning dining room that's bedecked with oriental lamps, zen-like water fountains and serene Buddhist statues.

The moment you walk through Tong Thai's doors expect a wave of famed Thai hospitality in the form of lovely hostesses who ensure that each guest feels well looked after for the entirety of their evening. Whether you're looking for a classic Pad Thai or a rich green curry, you'll find a menu packed with Thailand's best.

From date nights to anniversary dinners, Thong Thai Dubai is the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion, oozing elegance and charm with its striking decor inspired by rich Thai silks. We'll be the first to admit: while we were dazzled by the interiors, it was the massive menu filled with classic curries and street food inspired dishes that really left us speechless.

The aesthetics don't just stop with the restaurant's design - we found the dishes that arrived at our table almost too beautifully plated to eat. Vegetarian in your party? They'll be happy to find a number of flavourful dishes to enjoy.

  • The Bad
Given our spice tolerance is quite low, we found most of the dishes we ordered almost too hot to enjoy. This was particularly disappointing given the fact that we'd mentioned to our server that we preferred mild spice levels - order with caution.

We'd highly recommend keeping your smartphone app's torch on hand; the lighting in Tong Thai Dubai is quite low and we caught ourselves struggling to read the menu.
  • The Tips
If you're celebrating a special occasion, book one of Thong Thai's private dining rooms that seat up to 10 people. If you're an Emirates NBD card holder, pay with your card and receive 20% off the entire bill.

Pop in for the Thai restaurant's daily happy hour where you'll receive 50% off on selected drinks and snacks. Love a good brunch? Drop by every Monday evening for the Tong brunch that features a range of gourmet delicacies.
