Why you should go: Ibiza? In Winter?! There’s no doubt that Ibiza’s party reputation hits its peak in the summertime, but if you want to avoid the rowdy crowds and experience the island’s beauty like the locals do, February is the time to do it. Because things are quieter at this time of year, you’ll also be able to find bargains on everything — from hotels to restaurants.

3. Boracay Island, Philippines

Why you should go: February is one of the driest months in Boracay, and while it does get busy, you’ll still avoid the crowds who travel here en masse for Christmas and New Year. The popular island was closed to tourism in 2018 to allow for environmental rehabilitation, but it has reopened with stricter rules including caps on visitors. Known worldwide as a rowdy party destination, the vibes will no doubt be different in 2019.

4. Cape Town, South Africa

Why you should go: February in Cape Town – there’s no literally better time to be here thanks to amazing weather and must-try grape and hops festivals. If you’re an electronic music junkie, Cape Town also plays host to the legendary Ultra Music Festival in the shadow of the iconic Table Mountain.

5. Goa, India

Why you should go: Temps in Goa are pleasantly cool and comfortable during February, which visitors will appreciate when they’re sipping drinks beachside. It’s also a great opportunity to take part in the famed Goa Carnival when the streets come alive in celebration of Mardi Gras — it’s peak tourist season so booking in advance is a must.

6. Chiang Mai, Thailand

Why you should go: Thailand is already a budget-friendly destination for visitors, but you can find even better bargains on flights/hotels in February compared to peak season in December/January. Start out in Bangkok for Chinese New Year celebrations before heading north for the Chiang Mai Flower Festival which features a stunning colorful street parade of floral floats and cultural displays.

7. Paris, France

But if prefer to experience the city’s major attractions without the 3-hour long queues along with cheaper flight/hotel rates, come down in February for cosy candle-lit dinners and ice skating at the Eiffel Tower.
