Dubai Fitness Challenge: 30 Days of FREE Events Begins Now!

The opening weekend carnival of the Dubai Fitness Challenge kicks off today, and it’s absolutely packed with awesome events lined up. Trust us: there’s wayyy more going on than just fitness!

Running from October 20 – November 18, the 30-day challenge is being spearheaded by none other than Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai. With festivities launching today and tomorrow at Safa Park, here’s a run-down of what to expect…

Dubai Fitness Challenge events

From acrobatic shows and Bollywood dance performances to an appearance by a former England footballer, the Dubai Fitness Challenge is organising plenty of family-friendly fun for adults and kids. Here’s a breakdown of the opening weekend schedule:

Don’t miss a stunning acrobatic show by the team from Dubai’s resident theatre show, La Perle, near the Main Stage on Friday from 3pm to 5pm.

‘Come and Try’ fitness zones

Want to try something new? The dedicated Come and Try Fitness Zone is offering more than 20 fun fitness activities to participate in. From rock climbing and table tennis to yoga classes and circuit training, there is a sport or fitness challenge to suit everyone.

There will also be free-to-try sports sessions throughout the day, including cricket, basketball, touch rugby, table tennis and more.

Children’s fun zone

Younger children can play bubble soccer, join in five-on-five football, bounce on trampolines, scale new heights on a Ninja Warrior course and enjoy a host of other all-day open sessions on Friday from 1pm to 9pm, and Saturday from 1 to 7pm. Children’s Les Mills classes for ages 2-12 will also take place every 30 minutes.

Yoga in the park

From 4 to 6pm on Friday, you can participate in the Global Mala yoga event at Safa Park, which is open to the city’s yogis and yoga enthusiasts. On Saturday, the Yoga Stage will feature four additional yoga sessions including Artistic Yoga from 3:30 to 4pm and from 4:15 to 4:45pm; Hatha Yoga from 5 to 5:30pm; and Restorative Yoga from 6 to 6:30pm.
