Your Guide to the Best Pubs in Dubai

Trendy bars are easy to come by in this city, but pubs in Dubai are a little harder to find. From McGettigan’s to JB’s Gastropub, here’s a handful of to try out for a casual night out in Dubai.

1. Fibber Magee’s Dubai

Very much a Dubai landmark for the influx of Emerald Isle expats, Fibber Magee’s is that back-alley bar that sets the scene for a true Irish shindig. One of the oldest pubs in Dubai, Fibber Magee’s has earned its titles as the ‘No.1 Irish Pub in the UAE’ and ‘Dubai’s Best Kept Secret’. Serving up traditional pub grub with a side dish of mighty craic, the bar is big on sports, live music and late-night banter.

insydo tip: happy hours are 4pm to 7pm daily. Check out ‘Monday Night Madness’ for a yummy dinner and drinks combo.

2. The Irish Village Dubai

Steeped in Irish character, but blessed with Dubai sunshine, The Irish Village Dubai is an award-winning pub that oozes the authenticity of the Emerald Isle. From the wooden furnishings and bric-a-brac to the telephone box and signposts, Irish craftsmanship has replicated a traditional town in the heart of Al Garhoud and Jebel Ali; even the cobblestones were transported from Ireland.

insydo tip: Irish Village is a pet-friendly pub that welcomes pooches of all sizes. It’s an awesome spot in the cooler months when there’s live music outside!

3. JB’s Gastropub

Located at the Amwaj Rotana in JBR, JB’s Gastropub serves up British and American pub grub and rare barrel-aged beverages. It’s great for sports screenings and a casual night out with friends over some food and drinks.

insydo tip: The food is scrumptious so make a meal of it!

4. McGettigan’s Dubai

McGettigan’s is a well known Irish Pub that has made a name for itself across the UAE. When it comes to good pubs in Dubai (and around the world), the Irish seem to have it nailed.  Steeped in Irish family tradition, McGettigan’s has transported Irish culture, cuisine and craic to both sides of the city with bars in JLT, Dubai World Trade Centre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah… and at the airport.

insydo tip: McGettigan’s hosts a number of big acts throughout the year and several good brunch offers! Bring your banter…

5. The Dubliner’s

Tucked inside Le Méridien, Dubliner’s is a traditional Irish pub that offers home-cooked food, refreshing drinks and telecasts all the latest sporting events live. Sitting on the Village Terrace, the bar has been popular with the city’s expats since it opened its doors in the mid 90s.

insydo tip: Looking for a traditional Irish dish? Opt for the infamous Bacon & Cabbage, which comes with mustard-scented parsley cream.
