No Cash Needed! Here Are 8 Fun & FREE Things To Do In Dubai

October 8, 2016

Ever dread that weekend just before pay day, when funds are depressingly low and you’re stuck for ideas on where to go? We’ve all been there – more often than we’d like! Rather than stay at home and wait ’til pay day comes around, get out there and enjoy all the FREE things Dubai has to offer. Yep, you heard us right – FREE!

1. Camp out in the desert

Grab some friends, a few cool boxes and tents – it’s time for a camp-cation! Just 40 minutes East of the main city is a peaceful, secluded camping spot known as Al Qudra Desert. Totally free to camp out, enjoy a fun-filled weekend without breaking the bank. It’s best to leave this one for the winter; we’re pretty sure sauna-like tents aren’t exactly what you had in mind.

2. Shop for fresh produce and crafts

Give yourself a break from the crowded malls and enjoy the great outdoors at The Ripe Food & Craft Market. Held every Saturday night between 3pm and 9pm (starting from the 15th October) at Al Barsha Pond Park, browse through countless stalls of local produce and quirky handmade trinkets.

3. Get wet ‘n’ wild on your birthday

Did you know that you can get free access to Aquaventure Waterpark for your birthday? We know – amazing, right? All you need to do is register your birthday with them and you’ll be chilling in that lazy river in no time. The day pass you get can be used anytime during your birthday week, too!

4. Go to a stand-up comedy night

Whether you’re into stand-up comedy or improv, the guys at Courtyard Playhouse certainly know how to entertain. Opening their doors in the evening for free, head down for a chilled night filled with plenty of laughter and embarrassing moments (if you’re chosen to participate).

5. Exercise in the great outdoors

Want to work out, but don’t want to pay for a gym membership? Fear not as we’ve found an awesome park that offers everything you need in one place. With free entry to the park, a free-to-use running track, free-to-use courts and pitches, you’ll be able to get your fitness fix without leaving a dent in your wallet.

6. Mingle with the flamingos

What better way to spend your free time (for free) than with 450 species of wildlife? Observe the flamingos chilling in their element, or enjoy a spot of bird watching from one of three hidden huts (complimentary binoculars provided).

7. Brush up on your camel history

Curious about camels? Well, you’ll be happy to know that Dubai has its very own Camel Museum packed with wax statues and interesting info on the camel’s anatomy, its history and skeletal figures, too.

8. Watch the dancing fountains

Leaving the most extravagant experience ’til last, The Dubai Fountain at Dubai Mall never ceases to amaze – no matter how many times you’ve seen it. Boasting the Guinness record for the world’s largest dancing fountains, experience incredible shows without having to pay a dirham.
