Incredible sunset views, a live oud player and all-you-can-eat Lebanese comfort food! We took a short road trip to the capital to enjoy a delicious home-style Lebanese Iftar at Wafi Gourmet. From traditional Katayef to delicious Fattet Lahme, here are just some of the things we loved…
Iftar with a view: Wafi Gourmet has floor-to-ceiling glass windows along with a balcony that overlooks the beautiful Abu Dhabi Corniche – perfect for some post-Iftar shisha with a view.
Live oud player: Halfway through the Iftar, we enjoyed traditional music from the live oud player (who plays daily at Wafi Gourmet).
Authentic Lebanese food: Wafi Gourmet’s Iftar buffet offers a huge array of authentic dishes. If we had to pick a few favourites, we’d choose the Lentil Soup, Fattet Lahme, Shish Barak, Hummus and Batata Harra.
Traditional desserts: If you have a sweet tooth (like us), you’re going to love the desserts at Wafi Gourmet! We ended our meal with a plate of delicious Katayef with nuts, as well as freshly-made Kanafeh! Yumm!
Heading down there for Suhoor instead? Wafi Gourmet is also offering a late-night à la carte menu which includes a tasty selection of mixed grills.
