We’ve Found You The Best Places for Fish and Chips in Dubai

July 27, 2017

Looking for the best places in Dubai for fish and chips? From traditional pub grub to “chippie” stores, here are some of our favourites.

1. Geales

Geales has been a firm favourite amongst seafood lovers since it was established in London back in 1939. Tastefully decorated, the monochrome design of the restaurant is complemented by artsy British photography and patterned pillows, while the outdoor terrace allows for a fine-dining al fresco experience. From Hammour and Hake to Fresh Atlantic Cod and Sole, choose from a range of fish and batter options – tempura, beer batter and more – all of which are served with mushy peas and tartare sauce.

Price: Fish and chips is around AED 90 to AED 140 (depending on the fish type)

Location: Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa, JBR

insydo tip: They have an Oyster Saturday; make the most of single dishes and seafood platters – lobster, mussels, shrimp – in the seafront sunshine.

2. Bob’s Fish & Chips

Serving up fresh fish in crisp batter paired with chunky chips, Bob’s Fish & Chips offers a number of combo meals at reasonable prices. Known as Dubai’s very own “chippie”, expect to find all the classic British comfort foods along with a few healthy options like grilled Jumbo Prawns and pan-fried fish.

Price: Around AED 45 for hammour and chips

Location: Multiple locations but we’re fans of Dubai Marina

insydo tip: Head down from 8am to 12pm and try their breakfast menu – we’re talking baked beans on toast and more.

3. London Fish & Chips

Offering a variety of fish and chip combos, this fast-food joint is popular among many mall-goers in Dubai. Everything on the menu is named after a famous area in London – Park Lane, Piccadilly, Big Ben, Mayfair and more – and you’ll even find delicious baked potato options with a number of toppings to choose from.

Price: Around AED 30 for the Park Lane (fish fillet, chips and soft drink combo)

Location: Multiple branches but we’re loving The Dubai Mall

insydo tip: If you’re not a fan of fried fish, check out their healthier grilled options.

4. The Rose & Crown Dubai

Looking for authentic British food in Dubai? The Rose & Crown Dubai is a classic British pub serving up home-cooked comfort foods and plenty of drinks. We’re massive fans of the Rose and Crown Fish & Chips, fresh ale battered market fish served with homemade chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce.

Price: Around AED 65 for the Rose and Crown Fish & Chips

Location: Al Habtoor City, Business Bay

insydo tip: Brunch lover? Head down on Fridays from 12.30pm to 4pm for “Dubai’s most British brunch“.

5. The Fish and Chips Room

Serving up quintessential British favourites, The Fish and Chips Room offers everything from Steak & Kidney Pie and Battered Sausage to Potato Fritters and Calamari Rings. You can even expect to find Mushy Peas and Battered Mars Bars, too. We had the Chip & Cod Special and, if you’ve ever lived in the UK, you’ll know how hard it is to find a decent chippy when you move abroad.

Price: Around AED 62 for cod and chips

Location: The Walk, JBR

insydo tip: The Fish and Chips Room is open until 4am, so you can even drop in on your way home from a night out.
