7 New Restaurant Openings in Dubai to Look Forward to this Year

Dubai foodies, it’s time to get excited as the city’s restaurant scene is about to get a lot more awesome! From a new Mexican street food hangout to a restaurant with a floating kitchen, we’ve rounded up seven new dining destinations that are set to open their doors later this year. You’ll definitely want to add these to your Dubai bucket list…

1. Catfish

There’s a new wellness F&B concept set to open next month by foodie and health expert Gbemi Giwa, aka Dubai Fit Foodie. Combining traditional African ingredients with a focus on wellness, Catfish will be available for dine in at Kitchen Nation or for delivery via Deliveroo and Zomato. Expect to find a menu filled with organic and gluten-free dishes, including home-cooked favourites such as Mama’s Soup (coconut chicken broth and brown rice noodles) and the Dancing Waist (grilled peri-peri chicken, smoky jollof rice, kale lime salad and grilled plantain).

2. Geisha House

Popular Hollywood restaurant and bar, Geisha House, will be opening its doors at the InterContinental Dubai Marina later this year. This Japanese restaurant will offer a creative fusion of flavours which incorporates the traditional Kyoto culture from 1920 paired with futuristic Tokyo vibes.

3. Andes Restaurant

Serving up South American cuisine in a fine dining setting, Andes will be the perfect spot for business lunches and group dining. From breakfast favourites and authentic lunches to unique desserts and specialty teas, you’ll definitely want to add Andes to your foodie radar.

4. OSH Dubai

OSH is a popular foodie hotspot from London that’s inspired by the Central Asian Silk Route (an ancient network of trade routes that connected the East and West). Set to open its doors at La Mer very soon, expect an array of Central Asian delicacies, from Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass to Uzbek Tomato Carpaccio.

5. La Carnita

Love Mexican street food? Well, the opening of Toronto-born restaurant La Carnita is something you’ll definitely want to get excited about! Offering a tasty fusion of Latin American favourites, get ready to tuck into tacos galore in what seems to be (from the restaurant’s Instagram page), a super funky setting.

6. Dolce Sky

Get ready to experience the ultimate dining experience as Dolce Sky is set to open its impressive doors later this year. Part private member lounge, part French restaurant La Vie, and part Japanese dining spot Takumi, Dolce Sky offers an array of unique experiences all under one roof.

7. Marea

Italian restaurant Marea will be giving Dubai’s foodies something new to talk about in the coming months. This two Michelin-starred restaurant from New York is expected to serve everything from shellfish and oysters to home-made pasta and seafood dishes. Anyone else as excited as we are?!
