5 Creative Indian Dishes to Try Around Dubai

Love Indian food? Flavourful, colourful and incredibly satisfying… you can’t really go wrong! Looking for something a little different, we searched the city for the most creative Indian dishes that fuse traditional recipes with contemporary twists. Here are some of our favourites:

1. Indian Burrito at Wrapchic

When we were told there’s a restaurant in Dubai that serves up Indian Burritos (yes, actual burritos!), we had to go check it out for ourselves. Wrapping classic Indian street food into a Mexican burrito, Wrapchic is all about feel good food that’s easy to eat and tastes delicious. Choose from an array of unique styles – from burritos to quesadillas – and take your pick from a range of mouth-watering fillings including Chicken Mughlai, Mutton Hyderabadi and more.

2. Butter Chicken Pizza at Masti Dubai

Calling all Butter Chicken lovers; there’s a Butter Chicken pizza in town and it tastes amazing! Available at one of La Mer’s trendiest hotspots, Masti Dubai, this dish is made with Butter Chicken and creamy Burrata spread on top of a dough-licious flatbread.

3. Mutton Shawarma Biryani at Farzi Café Dubai

If there’s one thing Farzi knows how to do, it’s being creative. This trendy City Walk hangout is well known for its impressive Indian molecular gastronomy creations, from yoghurt shots floating in liquid nitrogen to Mutton Shawarma Biryani. Need we say more?

4. Gajak at Carnival by Tresind

Hands up if you’ve seen this dish all over Instagram?! Carnival by Tresind is known for its gastronomic delights that push boundaries and almost feel like art on a plate. One of the restaurant’s biggest masterpieces is the Gajak dessert, a creative combo of caramel, peanuts and chocolate (inspired by the famous Alinea restaurant in Chicago).

5. Dal Chawal Arancini at Farzi Café Dubai

Another classic favourite at Farzi Café is the Dal Chawal Arancini with tomato salsa and mayo. Traditionally made with Indian lentils and rice, Farzi has added its creative touch by topping it with some papad and chutney. It almost looks too good to eat!
