Public Holiday for the UAE Private Sector Has Been Announced

Good news folks: a UAE public holiday has just been declared on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday. Here’s what you should know

Get ready for a long holiday weekend in November

To mark the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday, known as Mawlid, private sector workers in UAE will get the day off on Sunday, November 18, with normal working hours resuming on Monday, November 19.

UAE public holiday 2018 dates you should know:

  • Commemoration Day, also known as Martyr’s Day, will fall on Friday, November 30.
  • UAE National Day will be celebrated on Sunday, December 2 and Monday, December 3. When combined with the weekend, it’s likely that UAE residents will enjoy a three-day or four-day weekend to mark the auspicious event. We’ll update you once dates are confirmed…
  • New Year’s Day will fall on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. It will be a public holiday for both private and public sector workers.
