Don’t Miss the ‘Blood Moon’ Lunar Eclipse Over Dubai TONIGHT

When it comes to celestial events, it doesn’t get any cooler than this. The upcoming Blood Moon 2018 — the longest lunar eclipse in a century — will be seen over UAE skies tonight. Thanks to the Sharjah Centre for Space and Astronomy, we’ve got all the must-know details

Blood Moon 2018: Important timings you should know…

On Friday, July 27  from 9:14pm to 2:19am (UAE local time) — the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century begins. The eclipse will reach totality for 1 hour and 43 minutes, when the moon passes through Earth’s shadow and takes on a stunning reddish color with peak eclipse time clocking in at 12:21am.

Where to watch the eclipse in Dubai:
Nakheel is hosting a FREE event at 2nd December Park (District 14) in Jumeirah Village Circle from 9:30pm until 1:30am, featuring movie screenings, beanbags, bouncy castles and complimentary refreshments. Whether you’re a science geek or not, we think it’s most definitely something worth staying up for.
